Crafts, gags and gifts

«Kleine geschenke erhalten die freundschaft» (small gifts encourages friendship) is an old German proverb. For my colleagues at the time of my employment and for other occasions I used my craft skills for pleasure.

Many of the gags were given to my colleagues and our CEO and my boss at the company event "10 Jahre OBRZ" towards the end of 1986. The locality of that event was Schloss Lenzburg.

• Pocket consultant
  This is a personal organiser based on 'old technology'. At the time of creation the first PDA (Personal Digital Assistants) came to the market.
• A personal REXX
  REXX is a script language used first on IBM mainframes. Later it became available also on PCs. Of course this gift is a pun with the word rex (king).
• Desktop /38
  The IBM/38 was a successor of the /34 and /36 line of database centric middle ware computers.
• Mobile Computing Centre
  In a large IBM installation the backup, even of the complete computing centre, was a big issue. This gift provided the ultimate solution to the nightmare of any IT manager.
• Electronic Turntable
  Before the web and e-commerce Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) was a key function for manufacturers, transport organisations and stores.
• Puzzle
  as a gift for people who support the idea of National Language Support in IT (Information Technology).
• itl in a nutshell
  a gift for the 25th anniversary of itl in Munich.
