Snap oddities

You place a table and want to adjust the column widths with the mouse, but you do not get straight values according to your settings in View > Options > Grid Spacing (which is, for example 1 mm)?

Observation for horizontal snap

You can move the mouse by 1 mm increments, but the width values do not snap to plain mm values.

Possible reasons

• The column left to the selected one has an odd width (for example 1.97 cm).
• The table is right adjusted or centred rather than left adjusted.
• The main text frame has an odd left margin (e.g. 2.52 cm rather than 2.5 cm)
• The text column has an odd left position (Room for Sideheads is 5.63 rather than 5.6 cm)
